He also said that the Prophet performed ablution and wiped over his stockings and his sandals.
Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.
وَعَن الْمُغيرَة بن شُعْبَة قَالَ: تَوَضَّأَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْجَوْرَبَيْنِ وَالنَّعْلَيْنِ. رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ
