Mishkat al-Masabih 3959
Thauban b. Yazid told that the Prophet set up the ballista when attacking the people of at-Ta’if.
Tirmidhi transmitted it in mursal form.
عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَصَبَ الْمَنْجَنِيقَ عَلَى أَهْلِ الطائفِ. رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ مُرْسلا
