Chapter: What was narrated concerning the prohibition of wailing
(51)
باب فِي النَّهْىِ عَنِ النِّيَاحَةِ
Sunan Ibn Majah 1579
It was
narrated from Umm Salamah from the Prophet (ﷺ) regarding:
“And
that they will not disobey you in Ma’ruf (all that is good in
Islam);” he said: “(It is about) wailing.”
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، مَوْلَى الصَّهْبَاءِ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ {وَلاَ يَعْصِينَكَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ} قَالَ: " النَّوْحُ " .
