وَمِنْ مُسْنَدِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ

Musnad Ahmad 1291

It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade me to put the ring on the middle finger.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ أَضَعَ الْخَاتَمَ فِي الْوُسْطَى ‏.‏

Grade:

Hasan because of corroborating evidence; this is a da'eef isnad] (Darussalam)
