The Messenger ﷺ commanded their recitation after prayer

أَمَرَ الرَّسُولُ ﷺ بِقِرَاءَتِهِمَا بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ

Virtues of the Qur'an's Chapters and Verses 89

Uqbah ibn Amir reported:

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded me to recite the Mu'awwidhaat after every prayer.” Reference: Sunan Abi Dawud 1523, Sunan an-Nasa'i 1336.

عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ أَقْرَأَ بِالْمُعَوِّذَاتِ دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ ‏.
