The Book of Prayer
A Mu'allaq narration (broken chain from the side of the Hadith collector, i.e. al-Bukhari) - but connected by Ahmad - has:
"and he used to them one by one."
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ مُعَلَّقَةٍ -وَوَصَلَهَا أَحْمَدُ-: وَيَأْكُلُهُنَّ أَفْرَادًا 1 .
1 - حسن. وهي عند البخاري (2/446/ فتح)، ووصلها أحمد (326). "تنبيه": اللفظ الذي ذكره الحافظ وعزاه للبخاري هنا إنما هو وهم من الحافظ رحمه الله، فهذا اللفظ إنما هو للإمام أحمد، ونص على ذلك الحافظ في "الفتح" أيضا، وإنما لفظ البخاري هو: "ويأكلهن وترا".
