The Book of Prayer
Ahmad reported something similar to the above Hadith from 'Amr bin Shu'aib on the authority of his father who reported it on the authority of 'Amr's grandfather.
وَرَوَى أَحْمَدُ : عَنْ عَمْرِوِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ جَدِّهِ نَحْوَهُ . 1
1 - صحيح . رواه أحمد ( 2 / 208 ) ولفظه : " إن الله زادكم صلاة إلى صلاتكم ، وهي الوتر" . والحديث وإن كان عند أحمد بسند ضعيف ، إلا أنه صحيح بما له من طرق أخرى ، وشواهد كالحديث السابق ، وتفصيل ذلك " بالأصل " .
